On behalf of Earth Council Alliance and Earth Charter International, Tommy Short participated as a speaker in the first national planning committee meeting for Earth Aid 2008. Earth Aid 2008, which will take place July 11, 2008 in Taos, New Mexico, will convene a wide range of individuals with diverse and exceptional expertise to promote a collective vision for global change and to raise awareness of the critical state of the environment. Earth Aid 2008 especially hopes to bring emphasis and attention to the Earth Charter.

“The Earth Charter is essentially a blueprint for sustainability”, stated Tommy Short in his presentation in Boulder, “and through collaborative projects, ECA and Earth Charter aim to build upon these principles, to make them real and tangible.”

ECA believes that Earth Aid 2008 will serve as an effective platform for organizations and individuals worldwide, such as ECA and Earth Charter, to actively engage in a global dialogue about sustainable development.
