Tommy Short and Marcelo de Andrade were named Honorary Professors of the Environmental Management College (EMCC) in Qinhuangdao, China on September 28, 2005. ECA co-founder, Maurice Strong, was previously appointed as Honorary Professor at EMCC. The ECA team met with EMCC President Dr. Wan Lixin and faculty to discuss wetland conservation projects, green building, environmental education, and municipal waste management issues. They also visited campus labs and facilities and met with students of the college. EMCC is a unique college focusing on environmental protection in China with academic departments in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental management, environmental supervision, environmental information management, ecological conservation, marine environmental protection, and environmental art design.
