Earth Council Alliance (ECA) delegates attended the 25th Anniversary Celebration for the Environmental Management College of China (EMCC) in October 2006.

Tommy Short, Chairman, Maurice F. Strong, Chairman Emeritus, and Michael Bloomfield, Chairman, ECA Programs Committee and Executive Director of Harmony Foundation of Canada (Harmony), delivered addresses to over 6,000 students, faculty, and other guests gathered for the Friday, Oct. 20 celebration on the college's campus in Qinhuangdao, China.

During his address, Mr. Short announced the International Scholarship for Sustainable Development Education. ECA members Oriental Environmental Institute (OEI) and Harmony joined ECA to establish the endowment which will enable EMCC to offer full time scholarships to its students. The organizations also offered the college a one-time Anniversary Scholarship which will enable four EMCC students to attend the college at not cost this year. ECA and its members will continue fund raising efforts to enlarge the endowment.
